Y. Z. Ya’u

Y. Z. Ya’u, writer and activist, lectured in the Department of Electrical Engineering at Bayero University, Kano from 1984 until 2000 when he resigned to co-found CITAD, one of the few ICT-focus NGOs in the country, which has been working on youth entrepreneurship, peace building, popularization of ICT, ICT policy advocacy and ICT business development support services. In 2007, he directed the Annual Child Institute of the Council for the Development of Social Science in Africa (CODESRIA), Dakar Senegal on Youth and ICTs. He has published extensively in the areas of ICTs, mass media and youth studies and served on several IT policy committees at both state and national levels and has been a consultant on these areas to several organizations, governments and development partners.
