Hopeton Dunn is Professor of Communications and Digital Media in the Faculty of Social Sciences at the University of the West Indies, Mona, Jamaica. He is the Director of the Caribbean Programme in Telecommunications Policy and Technology Management at the Mona School of Business, University of the West Indies, Jamaica, where he holds the Digicel Foundation Chair.
Professor Dunn is Secretary General of the International Association for Media and Communication Research (IAMCR). He is also the Chairman of the Broadcasting Commission of Jamaica, and a Commissioner of Jamaica's National Commission for UNESCO. His numerous books, articles and academic presentations cover the areas of New Media and Communications, ICTs and Cultural Policies, Theories of Globalization, and the Political Economy of Southern African and Caribbean Media.
