Jacobo is a technologist and researcher in human rights and a Tor Project core contributor. He has contributed applied research to the Free Software Foundation, Wikimedia, the Privacy Anonymity Tools project at the National Autonomous University of Mexico, and the Stratosphere IPS lab at the Czech Technical University. He was awarded the Gabo 2019 journalism prize, under the category of innovation.
