Victoria is currently the Communications Manager at Creative Commons, an organization dedicated to building a vibrant, collaborative global commons. She also serves as a Global Advisor to the Womenpreneur Initiative and is a Senior Research Fellow at the NATO Association of Canada.
Due to her experience growing up in Saudi Arabia, her primary focus of research and writing has been the Gulf region—examining the intersections of technology, gender and security. In particular, her research has spanned looking at the women’s right to drive campaigns in Saudi Arabia to the inclusion of gender (or lack thereof) in the United Arab Emirate's national AI strategy.
She previously worked in communication and research roles at the Institute for Gender and the Economy (University of Toronto), MaRS Discovery District, the Lutheran World Federation, and Project Vote Smart. Victoria holds a Master of Global Affairs degree from the University of Toronto, as well as a BA Honours degree from Virginia Tech in political science and history.
