GISWatch 2010 on Capitol Hill radar

Warren Communications News has covered GISWatch in a long note in its international section in two of its publications - Communications Daily and Washington Internet Daily.

According to a source the entire Federal Communications Commission --the US body responsible for all non-federal governmental communications regulation as well as international communications which begin or end in the US-- reads Communications Daily, along telecom lawyers, lobbyists and corporate officials mainly from the States.

The Washington Internet Daily has an audience primarily made up of US lawmakers, telecom lawyers and lobbyists, company officials and others who need to know about telecom and internet regulation and policy.

Progressive advocates also read the Washington Internet Daily. “It keeps us informed so that we as an organisation can decide what to do next," says Jeff Chester, director of the Center for Digital Democracy.

GISW 2010 authors cited in depth on December 2 2010 --the day after GISW 2010 was launched-- were Paul Mobbs, Hopeton Dunn, Panos London, and the International Institute for Sustainable Development.
